The 27th International Congress of CIRIEC will bring together about a thousand of participants
The 22th September Seville will witness the opening of the 27th International Congress of CIRIEC, the leading forum on the public, social and cooperative economy that will be held in the capital of Andalusia, organised by CIRIEC-Spain with the assistance of CEPES-Andalusia and sponsorship from a number of public and private organisations. Congress, with its theme of "Innovation and
Management: The responses of public, social and co-operative economy
enterprises to major challenges".
The Congress programme begins with the Opening Ceremony on Monday, 22 September. The President of the Andalusian Regional Government, Manuel Chaves, and the Mayor of Seville, Alfredo Sánchez Monteseirín, will also say some words at this inaugural event.
The Nobel Economics Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz will then give a lecture on Innovation and Management, during a session that will also be addressed by the Secretary General for Innovation of the Andalusian Regional Government, Ángel Garijo.
Workshops on innovation, sustainable development and social service provision
The Scientific Programme of the Congress includes 4 workshops on different themes that will extend over the afternoon of Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd. The workshops have been divided into round tables where specialists in the public economy, on the one hand, and in the social and cooperative economy, on the other, will discuss business innovation, sustainable development and social service delivery issues.
On the 24th, after a plenary session on "International Cooperation for Sustainable Development", another of the highlights of the 27th International Congress of CIRIEC will take place: the centenary celebration of the Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics.
Attractive social and cultural programme
The social programme of the 27th International Congress of CIRIEC holds a number of attractions for both congress participants and companions which are sure to make your stay more agreeable. The various activities planned include discovering the famous cities of Seville and Cordova and a modern flamenco show.
The welcome drinks reception on Sunday 21st and the gala dinner on Tuesday 23rd will be two great opportunities to socialise with the people from over 40 countries who are expected to attend this Congress.
The Congress venue is the Gran Sevilla Conference Centre, which has a maximum capacity of 1000.
