June 1 is the last day for registering at a discount for the 27th International Congress of CIRIEC, the leading forum on the public, social and cooperative economy that will be held from 22nd to 24th September in Seville (Spain). The Congress, organised by CIRIEC-Spain with the assistance of CEPES-Andalusia and sponsorship from a number of public and private organisations, has King Juan Carlos of Spain as its Honorary Chairman. Its title is "Innovation and Management: The responses of public, social and co-operative economy enterprises to major challenges". You can register at this website, where you can also find plentiful information on suggested hotels and the scientific and social programme.
Ciriec-España reminds you that as well as attendance at the Congress sessions and a folder with documentation, the Congress participants' registration fees also include a welcome drinks reception at the Reales Alcázares in Seville on Sunday, 21st September, two working lunches at the conference centre, the Hotel Barceló Renacimiento, on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd, a ticket for the Teatro de la Maestranza to see one of the shows at the Seville Flamenco Biennial festival, a gala dinner at the Finca de los Peralta on Tuesday 23rd and a closing drinks reception on Wednesday, 24th September.

Accepted papers
The Scientific Committee of the Congress reminds the over 300 researchers with accepted proposals for papers that the deadline for receipt of the full text of their papers is 15th June. Researchers who are entitled to a discounted registration fee must also register before 1st June in order to take advantage of the discount. After that date the full Congress participant fee applies.
The full-text papers should be sent on the form at the Congress website. The form is very easy to find: click on ‘Presentations > How to send' in the menu in the left-hand column
As previously mentioned, the papers will be presented in poster form at the Congress. The full texts will be included in a CD with an ISBN number that Congress participants will receive in the documentation folder.
An exceptional meeting
With less than five months to go, the 27th International Congress of CIRIEC has aroused very considerable expectation, as shown by the over 400 proposals for papers submitted by researchers into the public, social and cooperative economy from all over the world, as well as by the speakers who are already confirmed, among them the Nobel Economics Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz.
Papers for the 27th Congress will address the specific sphere in which public, social and cooperative enterprises respond to the challenges that arise through innovation strategies and the management of change. The challenges are many: an increasingly competitive environment, pressures to water down and homogenise corporate management and governance models, new needs that require responses, technological mutations, the necessity of taking sustainable development into account, etc. The answers of public, social and cooperative enterprises to all these challenges entail determined participation in the knowledge economy and in the application of innovation measures: innovation in products, in markets, in processes, social innovation, organisational innovation, etc.
The contributions of public, social and cooperative enterprises to the different aspects of innovation and their implications in the field of management will be the subject of the different sessions of this Congress.
